From September 12 to 13, Ugandan Vice President Jessica Alupo attended the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, India.

On September 12, Vice President Alupo delivered an address by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at the summit. President Museveni stated that BRICS provides an effective response to renewed attempts to dominate the world through great-power chauvinism and parasitism. He stressed that “the prosperity of China, India and other countries is not a threat, but an opportunity that benefits all humanity,” and that through economic transformation, China and India have enabled hundreds of millions of people to enjoy higher living standards.
