On August 7, Ambassador Zhang Lizhong was invited to attend the Huawei Uganda 2024-2025 ICT Competition Awards Ceremony and the Launch Ceremony of the 2025-2026 Competition. First lady and Minister of Education and Sports H.E. Janet Kataaha Museveni, President of Huawei's East Africa Multinational Management Department Dong Xuefeng, Uganda contestants were in attendance.

In the ceremony, the young Ugandans who have distinguished themselves on the global stage during the 2024-2025 ICT Competition finals, and the first prestigious Huawei Certificated ICT Expert award recipient were honored. In his speech, Ambassador Zhang briefed the new measures taken by China in promoting China-Africa cooperation and reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of China to supporting Uganda’s digital transformation, sustainable development and technological advancement.

Janet expressed her gratitude to China for its long-term support to Uganda and welcomed more Chinese enterprises to Uganda to do business, promoting the cooperation between China and Uganda and the economic and social development of Uganda.
