The Clean Stove flagship project under South-South cooperation for addressing climate change was announced by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China in COP30 in November 2025. Over the next five years, China will work with relevant countries to jointly build 100 clean stove demonstration villages, creating replicable and scalable best practices; train 1,000 local experts and technicians to support the implementation of the Project; and provide 100,000 sets of clean stoves to benefit local communities.

In May 2026, the "Clean Stove" flagship project was first launched in Uganda. According to the MOU signed by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China and The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development of the Republic of Uganda, China will provide 14,000 sets of high-efficiency biomass stoves and jointly establish a clean stove demonstration village in Uganda, thus to support capacity building to climate change, strengthen environmental protection, and improve the health and well-being of vulnerable groups.
