On December 6th, Ambassador Zhang Lizhong attended and addressed the 10th anniversary celebration of the Liaoshen Industrial Park in Uganda. General (Rtd) Salim Saleh, Mr. Ramathan Ggoobi, Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Treasury of Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Mr. Asadu Kigozi Kisitu, URA customs commissioner, and Counselor Wang Jianxun, also attended the event.

Ambassador Zhang stated that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of two nations, the China-Uganda comprehensive strategic partnership has continued to deepen, creating favorable conditions for investment and trade cooperation between both nations. Bilateral trade has seen significant growth this year, with fruitful pragmatic cooperation in different areas. Chinese government encourages Chinese enterprises in implementing the principles of joint consultation, construction, and shared benefits of the Belt and Road Initiative, expanding their investment and cooperation in Uganda, and contributing to Uganda's Vision 2040 for industrialization and product value addition.

The Uganda side commenced the Industrial Park as a key achievement of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Uganda. It has created a large number of jobs while driven the development of the regional industrial chain, serving as a successful example of mutually beneficial cooperation and common development between China and Uganda. The Uganda side welcomed more Chinese enterprises to expand their operations in Uganda.
