Ambassador Zhang Lizhong accompanied President Museveni to the the Flagging-off Meeting of the 1st Chili Container to China

On November 20, Ambassador Zhang Lizhong attended the Flagging-off Meeting of the 1st Chili Container to China and delivered a speech. Ugandan President H.E. Museveni, the First Deputy Prime Minister Rt.Hon. Kadaga, the Third Deputy Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Nakadama, Counselor Wang Jianxun,  representatives from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, officials and residents from Kamuli District were also in attendance.

Ambassador Zhang stated that China and Uganda are close partners on the path to modernization. In recent years, practical cooperation between the two countries has yielded fruitful achievement, and the zero-tariff treatment has significantly boosted bilateral trade. Ambassador Zhang introduced the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, emphasizing that China is willing to share development opportunities with Uganda, strengthen the alignment of development strategies, and generate mutual benefit and shared prosperity.

President Museveni expressed his gratitude to China for its consistent cooperation with African countries in seeking common development, and emphasized that China has supported Uganda since the anti-colonial struggle. He added that the both sides have conducted cooperation in various fields, including trade, on the basis of mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit. He expressed his belief that the cooperation between the two countries "will definitely go further."
