Counsellor Wang Jianxun Attends 4th Medical Camp in Semuto, Uganda

Counsellor Wang Jianxun of the Chinese Embassy attended the 4thregional free medical camp in Semuto, Uganda on 14th June. During the event, he visited members of the Chinese Medical Team in Uganda conducting Free community clinic and attended the donation ceremony of medical equipment and pharmaceuticals to the Josiah People's Medical Centre by the team, sponsored by Uganda Liaoshen Industrial Park.

Counsellor Wang noted the longstanding cooperation between China and Uganda in the healthcare sector. "Since 1983, China has dispatched 24 medical teams totalling 227 professionals to Uganda," he stated. "These teams have served in regional hospitals, safeguarding Ugandan public health through their clinical excellence and humanitarian commitment."

He described the current free medical initiative as "a vivid demonstration of Sino-Ugandan medical cooperation." Under the Health Partnership initiative framework of the'Ten Partnership Initiatives' for Joining Hands to Advance Modernization for China and Africa, Counsellor Wang affirmed China's continued support: "China will assist Uganda and other African nations in enhancing medical service capacity, developing public health systems, and strengthening disease prevention collaboration."
