Important Reminder:Full Resumption of Appointment for Visa Application Submission (AVAS)

This serves to remind that:


In order to provide more standard, orderly service of better quality to the applicants for a China visa, this Embassy has, since October 28, 2019, launched the China Online Visa Application (COVA) and Appointment for Visa Application Submission (AVAS) (please refer to an earlier notice from this Embassy http://ug.china-embassy.gov.cn/eng/xwdt/201909/t20190926_6944002.htm)which indicated that from October 28, 2019, all applicants for a China visa must secure their appointments for visa application at https://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn.


It is important to note that since the outbreak of the global COVID-19 pandemic, visa application to China has been affected and as a result, there have also been adjustments on the employment of Appointment for Visa Application Submission. Currently, as visa application to China gradually normalizes, this Embassy will fully resume the employment of the Appointment for Visa Application Submission, with immediate effect.


Meanwhile, in order to allow some time for the applicants to renew the understanding of and further familiarize with the above arrangement, this Embassy has designated the period between February 2 to 10, 2023 as a transitional period.During the transitional period, applicants can still come to the Embassy directly for the submission of the visa application materials. However, Starting from February 11, 2023, all applicants for a China visa must secure their appointments for visa application at https://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn before coming to the Embassy.Please note that applicants holding diplomatic/official passports do not need to secure their appointments for visa application.
