In order to further strengthen the mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and Uganda, and to enrich the contents of the Comprehensive Cooperative Partnership between China and Uganda, following instructions from the Headquarters, the Chinese Embassy in Uganda welcomes citizens of Uganda to apply for the 2020/2021 Chinese Government Scholarship.

The Chinese Government has been providing scholarships for Ugandan students to study in Chinese higher education institutions since 1980s. The Ministry of Education of China formulates Chinese Government Scholarship, and entrusts China Scholarship Council (CSC) to handle the enrollment of international students.

I. For the academic year of 2020/2021, Chinese Government Scholarship will provide  full Scholarships for Ugandan students who wish to study in China for Bachelor, Master or Doctoral Degrees. The Scholarship will cover the fees for tuition, basic learning materials, accommodation, living allowance, outpatient medical service and comprehensive medical insurance, and international airfare for the first trip to China and returning trip after completion of study.

II. The Chinese Government will also provide Scholarships for Friendship, especially open to outstanding postgraduate and doctoral candidates who major in the fields of science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, pedagogy (normal education) and humanities and social sciences such as China research, news and communication. The Scholarship for Friendship will cover all the fees mentioned in Category I except for the international airfare.

The applicants for both Scholarship programs are required to strictly follow the attached guidelines and submit the online application no later than February 5, 2020.
